Day 1 - DEPART USA – Today, we depart our home airport to connect with our overnight flight aboard a wide-bodied jet. We enjoy in-flight movies, dinner, and breakfast while aloft.

Day 2 – BARCELONA - Upon arrival we proceed through customs and are greeted by our Unitours Tour Manager. We board our coach bus for the start of this wonderful pilgrimage! After a stop for lunch on our own, we continue to the city center’s Plaza de Cataluña and Paseo de Gracia, where we admire Gaudi’s eccentric Casa Batllõ and Milà. We enjoy a bus tour of other iconic sights along our route as we proceed to a local church near our hotel for our first pilgrim’s Mass before our hotel check-in. Tonight, we enjoy our “welcome” dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 3 – BARCELONA - This morning, we celebrate Mass at the Crypt Church at Sagrada Familia Cathedral. We visit the Church of the Holy Family or Sagrada Familia, the masterpiece of Antoni Gaudi, slated to be completed in 2026. Afterwards, we travel through the Gothic quarter bisected by the famous Ramblas. We enjoy a spectacular view from the top of Montjuic hill, pass by the Exchange. Following a break for lunch on our own, we visit the UNESCO World Heritage "Park Guell" one of Gaudi's Masterpieces of "landscape architecture.” We then travel a short distance to our restaurant for tonight we enjoy a unique part of the Spanish culture, the Flamenco show. We conclude our evening and overnight at our hotel.

Day 4 – MONTSERRAT/BARCELONA – Today, we drive to Montserrat on the outskirts of Barcelona and celebrate Mass at the Monastery housing the famed Black Madonna. While stopping for a break for lunch on our own, we enjoy the mid-day music of the famous boys’ choir while there*. Return to our hotel in Barcelona with some free time before for dinner and overnight. *Pending their schedule.

Day 5 - BARCELONA/MADRID - This morning, we start our journey west to the capital of Spain, Madrid. We stop along our route for lunch on our own and arrive later in the afternoon with a stop at the Plaza Major for a brief orientation tour of this vibrant area. We conclude our day as we check into our hotel for dinner and overnight in Madrid. Mass location to be determined.

Day 6 – MADRID/AVILA/MADRID – Today, we depart for the medieval city of Avila. We enjoy the Spanish countryside was we journey back in time to this medieval walled city. Our first stop is the Convent of St. Joseph. This monastery, which St. Teresa founded for her Carmelite sisters, is an incredibly special pilgrimage spot to even those who are not avid followers of St. Teresa. We enjoy a tour and sometime in the museum dedicated to her as well. Following a break for lunch on our own, we visit the Cathedral of the Savior, more commonly referred to as the Avila Cathedral. Constructed in the 12th century and remodeled over the next six centuries, it is an imposing work of architecture and beauty. We celebrate Mass while there. We conclude our day in Avila as we return to Madrid for dinner and overnight at our hotel.

Day 7 – MADRID/TOLEDO/MADRID – This morning, we travel to nearby Toledo, located along the Tagus River, Toledo has a colorful history, spending much off the first millennium under muslim rule. We start at the Cathedral of Toledo, which was started in 1226AD but not completed until over 250 years later, in 1493AD! Using multiple colors of marble, adorned with stucco figurines and bronze castings, this Cathedral dramatically stands apart from most churches in the area built at that time. We celebrate Mass while there. After a break for lunch on our own, we continue our visit to the Franciscan Monastery known by “Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes,” which translates to the Monastery of St. John of the Monarchs but refers to St. John the Evangelist. Built in1477AD by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella to celebrate the birth of their son, Prince John. We conclude our time in Toledo and travel back to Madrid for dinner at a restaurant near our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.

DAY 8 – MADRID – Today, we visit conclude our final day in Madrid with a visit to some off the highlights of Madrid, including the Gran Via Plaza de España, the Viaduct, the Bull Ring, Independence and Cibeles Squares, the University, and the Paseo de la Castellana. We break for lunch and enjoy the remainder off the day with free time for leisure, last minute shopping or some site seeing on our own before we make our way to our hotel for our “farewell” dinner and overnight.

Day 9 – MADRID/USA – This morning, we transfer to the airport for our flight home with unforgettable memories to cherish always.
