Young Joseph Barbedette and his older brother, Eugene saw the Blessed Mother with a gold crown and a blue gown covered in stars. Strangely, their parents could see nothing, not could the local Bishop, but two young girls also witness Our Blessed Mother. They all prayed to her as “Our Lady of Hope,” which she acknowledged with her smile and with the brightness of the stars on her gown. Though her appearance only lasted that day, it would change the course of the conflict and bring about an armistice soon afterwards.
